We all go through our lives thinking "Why did I get this particular life? What did I do to deserve this?" Sometimes the world takes the chances away from those who wont work for it. Basically, it holds up the keys just above our reach.
There are so sometimes where we are like "Why did so and so pass away? Why couldn't have been me?" If it was a favorite pet, not only are they eternally your friend they can never be forgotten. A friend said that our pets come into our lives for one life lesson or another, but they're also there for the lonely."
I have experienced the pain of losing loved ones from old age...and uncontrollable accidents, and those are the two most thought of things that I went through. Even though I cried about how I couldn't really hug them anymore physically, I learned for the first time that I didn't need to touch them. I just have to remember them, and keep them in my heart.
A few months ago, I was despairing because I thought I would forget my very close friend, which was my first pet. I kept beating myself thinking, "Why me? I know I did some really horrible things in my past, but...I don't wanna forget about him because of it." Then, one day, the movie "My Dog Skip" sparked my memory. When the movie came to the part about the boy crying over his dog who passed away, I walked out and sobbed. It felt good, it felt like he had put me through that as redemption. To this day, I will never forget him.
